Exactly, my rabbit and the other one‘s iris looks nothing like as pronounced as the OP’s
After foxhunters poor attempt at educating me I’m still going young hare, the eye, coat and black tips are doing it for me, where do I hand my guns in?

If you can’t see the differences between the two different species in these to pictures that is very concerning but I will list a few:

• face shape
• colour of fur inside of the ears
• black detail inside of the ears
• black detail on edge of nostrils
• whisker colour (leverets have white whiskers and adult hares have mostly white with black at the base)

Instead of confusing people and causing misidentification, hopefully these points will help new shooters on here identify rabbits from leverets and young hares.
