Exactly, my rabbit and the other one‘s iris looks nothing like as pronounced as the OP’s
After foxhunters poor attempt at educating me I’m still going young hare, the eye, coat and black tips are doing it for me, where do I hand my guns in?

Im sure the op stated normal rabbit coloured meat. A leveret the size of a rabbit would be dark meat.
I cant see it being a hare. Dont know how you can

Easy to tell the difference. All rabbits have a humped back, so they can hold up the pastry crust on the rabbit pie .

I am out every week and have spent nearly 40 years shooting rabbits and hares whereas some others dont venture out and probably have never seen either in the wild
