Hello, what loads are working for others in 308 with N135 and 130 grain barnes TTSX?

Vit data shows 43.7 grains max but looking at threads 45 to 46 grains seems the optimum. Obviously I will start below the max and work up to suit my setup checking pressure as load increases in small steps.

I am trying to get more velocity so have switched from N140.

Thanks

I ended up over 46gr and have some 38 5-shot groups at that rate which I had found before Viht published TTSX data...I now think may be a bit hot...so now along with the advent of an accurate chronograph I am going to start again and find another node lower down. I have gone on to 110gr TTSX with Barnes for deer now though.

On N140 I was getting 2800 ish for but no experience of compressed loads etc. Hence the powder swap. I will work up to the max published by Vith. Thanks

With n140 you run out of case capacity before you run into pressure problems. 48.1gns of n140 through a drop tube fits fine in my experience no crutches on bullet seating.

The vhit .308 table is pretty anemic in my experience and if your running copper bullets I’d see the max as a pretty good starting point. But of course done with care. With light neck tension I get a lovely load (48.1gn) 2970fps ES 12 sd 4.5 no sticky extraction or signs of pressure at all.
