N140 Hornady V-MAX 87g 243win

Hi all,

Anyone has any experiences with reloading 243 win? What bullet do you recommend for hunting?

I found Hornady V-MAX 87g and would like to know what's the optimal load of Vih N140.
The rifle is Sako 85 bavarian, 570mm, Twist 1:10.

I use the factory load of N140 under an 80gn Fox bullet. Works very well for me. Details here at bottom of page.

I’ve used the 87 v max but it is very explosive. However I’ve found it to be interchangeable accuracy wise with the 85 gr interbond, however I've yet to use on deer.
My 85/87 load is 37 gr RE15 but you should be able to use N140 - N160 (and all in between).

I use both 75 and 87 vmax in 6mm. Load both over N140 its absolutely excellent powder. Superceded Varget. I can post load data later.

No - just followed the factory data. I do struggle though in getting all the bullets to dance together in perfect time. There is always one that dances to a different rhythm.
