The NCA and police ought to have a granular level of detail on this which they can make available to BASC and the like. The entire point of firearms licensing (if it is not just to generate needless red tape for citizens) is so that the police know exactly who owns and where every firearm is.
If a fraudulent transaction has occurred, the police will have been notified at the time by the vendor, and then were under a duty to investigate, recover the firearm, and prosecute the buyer.
Either the data exists to provide to BASC or the entire licensing system is a fraud itself.
