Natural Environment Bill Guest Stalking

Can someone explain what is being discussed here , because I see nowhere in the bill stating that any qualification is needed for amateur stalking .

Am in construction we had a card called citb construction industry trading board! An arse covering card
You hurt your sell your fault no claim
The card is renewed every 5 years money making scam/ scheme you chose.
The course is now dun on line
Working at highest man lifting asbestos ect 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Says everything
You could go down the road of grand father rites like the the digger men plant drivers who automatically got the license due to time work with plant ! Anyone new had to sit a test
Would that be acceptable here 🤷‍♂️say any one with say license for 10 /15 qualify automatically… new licence holders do a test
Just my 5 p worth

Qualify for what ?

Not have to sit dsc1 or the other so called test that may or may not be need to shoot deer in Bonny Scotland
Doesn’t say it’ll be needed anywhere though, so qualify for what ? Am I missing somit ?

No one in this thread will answer, where does it say that any qualification will be required for stalking ?

During the final debate it was agreed that future consultation would take place with deer managers and stakeholders to decide what, if any, training/qualification will be required
If it is decided that anything is required it will be introduced by regulation..

But was the timescale on this not up to 20 years almost? Has to be consulted within 10 years and then recommendations implemented within another 10 from end of consultation? And its all still very undecided.

For night shooting with a DSC1 . You need two DSC2 referees so you can be put on the fit and competence register. Unless that's changed
I am on the fit and competence list , it was done on the phone DSC1 and 2 . job done ! Be a few years back though , cannot remember if i had to pay anything or not but it wasn't much if i did

It was free but after so many years needs to be re applied for . They did ask what deer activities had been carried out in those past years. Courses etc

You make a good point, but as you say "your fitness to OWN a firearm is decided", not necessarily USE. I have seen, with my own eyes, "experienced" firearms owners/users take dodgy shots that I would never take. In my opinion, anyone using a deer legal calibre, and lets face it these have the potential to be highly dangerous tools, should have some training in their, safe and ethical, use OR be supervised by someone who has. How many examples could we think of where tradesmen have to have provable qualifications to use certain tools, or carry out certain tasks, because if they do it wrong they endanger other people or property? We have had it good for a long time, but now we are in the spotlight, we need to change before those with little understanding of our world make us change. Maybe, considering all that's happening politically, we're already too late.
Just what we need for the good of the sport, more barriers in the way of new entrants. Current system should work, it’s based on the FEO assessing experience and deciding whether you’ll be safe with a firearm.

I’ll not name names or estate’s but I’ve been reliably informed that guest stalking is being pushed away from in some cases due to upcoming new restrictions and regulations.

Some places are going to become training providers to bypass the need but it’s going to increase cost to clients.

Basically the government don’t want people coming here for hunting tourism.

Truth be known I’ve said this for a long time
The Scottish government hate the thought of tourists paying to shoot trophies here and would eventually make it impossible to do so.

This looks like they are getting their way .
Sad days

I’m against this and always have been. Your fitness to own a firearm is decided when you are issued an fac.

The rest is nonsense. It’s pest control so the same humane issues apply to rabbits , birds etc etc. Fancy having to be on a register to shoot squirrels?
Give it time...

Salmon fishing won’t be safe either

Estates put un all sorts of pressure to shoot more and more deer. Its only a matter of time before they Tell NS to go F there self and shoot the deer for them. That would free up all the tied homes for BnB opertunity and no stalker fees and all that goes with employing some one. The saving would be massive. Not sure if w3e the Tax payer could soak up the costs.
£13000 + an average lowland deer manager. £33000 + To furnish the highland deer managers.
