New 222 rifle options?

If I were to get a new 222 what are the options?
I am under the weather again with a virus and can't get out although today has been better yesterday. It's killing me not getting out so got to thinking what is out there that hasn't got a stupid bull barrel and is light.

My RFD has a model seven in 223 but I don't want to change calibre. I have a good stash of brass in 222 etc.
Can't afford a Sako so don't go there.
How do I find out what's available new?

Smelly, I can just imagine the look on that BeddyLurch face if you ditched that .222, Maybe just have stripey jimmiejams instead?, hope you are feeling better soon! Ste.

To be honest I think you’ll be doing well to beat your CZ 527, a scaled action, lightweight and proven accuracy.

Is it a case that you want a new toy? There was a Tikka 222 with a NV scope for £500(ish?) in the classifieds recently, no doubt it will shoot well but I prefer the smaller scaled actions and a steel magazine.

I'm bored and can't go out 😭.
Aye the cz is a good'n 👍🏻

This one is nice, but has a bull barrel…

No bull barrels! I carry enough weight!!

SD, I used to have a Remmy 700 varmint barrel, it was deadly accurate, with factory ammo & a pecar scope. Got tired of lugging that thing about when the truck lamping team broke up, so I decided to sell it. Bought a Tikka T3x, it did everything I wanted it to, out of the box, would I go back to the Remmy, not a chance in hell, I love using that T3x,its got a wooden stock & meopta scope, I point it at something & it falls over. Its a tool of work, it gets bashed & scratched & I dont worry, it works!!! Why would I want anything else. Still miss that Pecar scope though.

Good evening Smelly Dog , there is a nice steyr manlicher in the classifieds £300 , I have been looking at it myself, as my brother is looking for a 222 but his heart is now set on the Bergara B13 👍🏻

I was angling for new gents.

I had a bdl decades ago. I could shoot then and it was a fantastic rifle.

Sorry to hear you’re poorly again Smelly - these things take a bit of shifting but if you are thinking new rifle you must be on the mend!
As you would imagine I recommend the Remmy - had mine for many, many years and put thousands of rounds through it and it still outshoots me - another fox with it tonight.
I know you want new but previously loved 700s are plentiful and not a lot of money…..
Get well soon.

Would it be prohibitively expensive to have the barrel set back and a 222 reamer run in?
I love the Model 7 rifles.

I might sell this beaut! I love it but your need sounds greater than mine.
595. Bedded. Cerakote. Fluted. Kkc stock. Hardly used and thats why I might move on.
Oooo!! I think that stock would go lovely with those Jim jams, Smelly Dog 👍🏻 . Lovely looking rifle👍🏻

I know you said it but stop effing around, bite the bullet (a .222 of course) and get a Sako 90 Hunter blued, walnut and shoot in bliss for the remaining of your days.

Cheers
