New to the forum so slowly navigating my way around. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger I think is coming to the end of its life my groups have opened up a lot so possibly looking at a new barrel. Im not wanting to spend a lot of cash as I can get this done Stateside when I get back for around 600 bucks. I have spoken to some guys but thought I would ask here.

It is very possible to burn out a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Buy before you spend make sure its not just excessive copper in the barrel, or the metal to stock screws coming loose. If it is new barrel time then Stateside seems a very good option.

I burnt my first 260 Rem in about 2k rounds. Granted there was some sessions where barrel got quite hot, and majority of the rounds were also quite hot (all home loads). On the other hand barrel was black LW, and those are not usually the most delicate of barrels.

I was able to chase the lands for a very short while (100rds or bit more), but after that the barrel became very reliable "10 shots in 10cm at 150m" performer...

I was going to say if you are central then try James at Jaeger. He did my creed PRS rifle and it did me 3 x 3 round groups at 1/3moa in the range this week @100y.
James has done three of mine, Tikka M595 .22/250 (Pendragon), Remington 700 .280AI (Shilen) and recently Parker Hale 1200C .308 (Pendragon), all shoot well, the Tikka is exceptional, mine were all cerakoted, the first two matt black, the PH in grey (I'd strongly recommend the grey finish, it looks fantastic)

Whats the muzzle like, maybe an inch off and recrown will give you a few hundred more rounds

You have had 3 barrels from him so his work is obviously good.

Muzzle is ok as is the crown but I may get the barrel bore scoped.
Only reason I mention it, I had a barrel that appeared to be losing rifling at the muzzle (gas cutting possibly) I had the muzzle cut an inch shorter and re crowned and threaded, it extended the life of the barrel in this instance
