New barrel required.

New to the forum so slowly navigating my way around. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger I think is coming to the end of its life my groups have opened up a lot so possibly looking at a new barrel. Im not wanting to spend a lot of cash as I can get this done Stateside when I get back for around 600 bucks. I have spoken to some guys but thought I would ask here.
@Edinburgh Rifles had one and gauges for sale not long ago. Otherwise get one from Viking via an RFD

I remember a chap called Richard Utting (sharpshooting UK) getting his Ruger RPR rifles getting done by a chap called James Clark, and was hitting beyond a mile with ease with the rifles. Worth looking up either of them

massive handbags over this when mr utting didn't think he should pay since he's a celebrity

It should be good for another 800-1000 rds. Have you tried cleaning it thoroughly? 6.5CM will usually go up to 3,000 rds before a barrel change is required, depending on how many long strings of fire you've had through the rifle.
Yes cleaned but not to excess but it’s a range rifle and it is running hot.

So managed to speak to James today super nice guy and very knowledgeable. Talked me through everything and gave me options but also offered to borescope the barrel before any decisions. He has several barrel brands one being a Pandragon I think. Anyone know this brand?

Mines a pendragon and love it. A pendragon was fitted to the rifle that won the 2023 Kings Prize for TR during the imperial.

Mine grouped 1/4moa after I ran it in and now gives me a good 1/4moa 3 round groups. It’s a PRS rifle so that what I wanted it for.

Also if he is offering for you to pop down, camera your rifle and have a chat I would go.

Give the barrel a really good clean.

Most barrels wear at the throat first - its where the full force of the hot gas / burning powder has its effect. This can have a major effect on accuracy.
Seat l your bullets longer in the case so that they are closer to the lands. Given the change in barrel dynamics it may be that you need to work up a new load. Worth a try before spending lots of money on a new barrel.

I have two, .22/250 and .308, both shoot well, iirc the winner of the 2023 kings prize at bisley had a pendragon barrel fitted to his rifle
