In a world where everyone is quick to criticise we should also be able to give credit where it's due. I have my Hik Alpex 4k 2 months now and have tried it with all manor of IR torches. I tend not to listen to the noise and put my money where my mouth is. I've trialled both LED and VCSEL torches from many different manufacturers at much cost to myself. I wanted the best I could have. For my particular application long range foxing I've settled on the Dark Engine Blade. For short range work like rabbits an LED IR torch will work for most and does give a "clean" image but all that I have tested quickly run out of legs at around 150 yards. Clive's Dark Engine Blade fills the FOV at base mag 3.5x on the 4k, is light weight, small dimensions, superbly made and gives a great image even on flood out to way further than you would shoot. On full spot it allows you to crank the magnification right up on the 4k and still gives a very clear image whereas most of the others when the mag is zoomed up give a very grey pixelated image. I have zero affiliation but have bought products off Clive before and this little torch is superb in my opinion. It by far ticks the most boxes for me compared with all others. So credit where it's due.
