I still think in feet and inches., BTUs, Horsepower, lbs per square inch, stones, miles, foot pounds..........

Me too in miles and for guns in foot/lbs and feet per second and grains. But if buying meat I do now buy in kilos even if I still do it as half a kilo being a pound and a kilo being two pounds but then cook it at so many minutes to the pound!

Well I quite like it and a big thank you to the staff for continuing to ensure the forum runs smoothly. Most will have no idea how much effort it can be to run a forum, especially one with as much activity as the SD.

The layout is clean, concise and if you give it more than 2 seconds, you will see how much better it is.

It also looks incredibly easy to ignore people now. That will be an incredibly useful tool for me.

Have you looked under Forum/find threads/your threads? You may not even need the 'your threads'...all the threads I have started seem to be there.

Personally I think the new layout is fine.
It doesn't matter how hard you try to improve what is effectively a free service, there are always people ready to bitch and moan...

They are called ‘Conversions’, before they had ‘private messages’ they were like email and they used go to sent... now they are more like private forums between you+him... they have gone to everyone who participating in your ‘conversation’ (over on the right) and they are presented showing each message in the order they sent it.

Well I am certainly no IT guru. As for some of the comments on this thread, that's to be expected. It took Alex all day to carry out the work, plus it has cost us the site owners to upgrade the site. If we had not done so you would not have a workable site in the future.
It hasn't cost any of you a bean, but its cost time and money for the improvements, of which I am sure we will all get used to given a little time.

My penny's worth, it's not my site to decide what goes on, change happens and although many of us don't like it, sometimes it's a necessity. We will all get used to it within a few days/weeks and to be fair it is quite easy to navigate through everything. They've paid for it out of there own pockets in money and time to keep this site up and running for US. I dare say they have much better things to be doing! I appreciate the time and money that goes in hence the reason I am a supporter (for 6 quid a quarter I think it is, why the hell not?) If This site decided to close yesterday how many would be bored sat in the office? How many would be unable to obtain help and information from like minded people? So, support what admin and staff are doing as if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to discuss this!

Looks like a list of someone else' pm box. Conversations between 2 members nothing to do with me? Not sure why it comes up on my view?

Are they posted in a message? There will be some unfortunately, they are where YouTube for example was interpreted differently between Xenforo and vBulletin... they are easy enough to click on the link to view. If there are any popular links drop me a PM and I’ll edit them to fix it.
