New rifle model from Tikka

Hi,

Does anyone have any updates about this rifle? I saw that a few had this on order earlier this year. Be good to know how it performs.

Thanks.

Tikka (Sako) is quite bad at giving certain details, but from their videos I've understood that you can get either "black steel" or cerakoated stainless steel. Tikka stainless is magnetic, so no easy way to test.

Picked up one in 308 last night, 24" barrel, cerakote in an unappealing dull brown, it looks lighter on the website photos.

I've had a couple of Tikka's and currently have a TacA1 in 6.5C which I love :)

I have to say this is only the second rifle I've bought that I've almost instantly thought I don't like it when I've handled it.
First was a new S&W 44 underlever, compared to my Henry's it's rough as a badgers bum and a PITA to load, even with an improved side gate fitted.

I have large hands and find the hard hand grip pretty poor, the bottom of the trigger housing has sharp edges on the sides,
feels like a groove running along it which rubs the top of my middle finger. The TacA1's guard is smooth.

Trigger blade seems short compared to the TacA1, not the pull the actual vertical length.

I've swapped out the grip for a spare AGR-43 rubberised one (same as TacA1) and taking it for a shoot on Sunday so will see how I get on with it.

I picked up the Ace Game cerakote in 6.5prc last week.

Managed a very quick zero session one evening last week. 9 shots through the barrel so far. Shots 6, 7 & 8 landed in a .6" group, sent number 9 at a 210 yard gong and it was smack on. Using 143 grain ELDX precision hunter.

Very pleasant to shoot.

I'm utterly convinced it'll shoot much tighter.

Will be taking it North this week for a few days chasing 🦌
