Well, joshing aside, I hope that Selena/BMHpup continues to contribute to the forum and this thread in particular, as some interesting and constructive points have been raised, and I also hope she will take some of the concerns on board before pulling the trigger on publishing.
IMHO it's no bad thing to bring stalkers and handlers with trained dogs together but I'm seriously doubting the efficacy of such an uncontrolled listing that the magazine will not ultimately be taking any responsibility for.
As Bordersman said earlier, it's open to any Tom, Dick or Harry giving their dog a go at tracking wounded deer, no matter if it's had any training or not - even Selena has said she would be 'thrilled' to have the opportunity to use her young dog on a live trail. And I'm also not too sure that any stalker would be best pleased if an inexperienced dog and/or handler turned up for a bit of 'practice' in trying to locate a wounded animal that they were desperate to recover.
TBH I think the attitude comes across as a bit too casual and we owe the deer or any wounded game more respect than that. Just my opinion at the moment.
