New Swarovski Z6i

Its a very nice scope with a good magnification range.

Yes I was 1 of the first to get 1 around a week ago.

I've had it out a couple of times since. Once to get it dialled in and set the BT out to 400 yards and a couple of times out stalking.

Its all you would expect from a big brand optic and still light weight.View attachment 457009View attachment 457010View attachment 457011
Ok, my curiosity has peaked - your scope appears to carry a Laser Warning sticker on the bell objective yet this isn't a DS (and the one on that is underneath).

Please ease my confusion and enlighten me

Possibly just a battery warning of explosion.
I took it off after the trip to the range.

After looking high and low for a Swarovski scope I gave up and nearly went and bought a Zeiss v6 there’s a few Swarovski’s in stock alright in the UK but imports charges were a joke, I held off and found a place in Finland that’s sells them and ships to Ireland so yesterday I purchased a Swarovski z6i 4-24x56.

Their Z6i range was their most successful series of scopes also due to the 2-12×50 model beeing the most universaly usable 50 mm lens scope at that time among other reasons. You could use it for anything from driven hunting with it's large field of view at 2× to still hunting in poor light due to 50 mm lens and excellent light gathering capability and also on stalking as it was a light and elegant scope. I'm sorry to see they dropped that universality.

Glass wise no.
Features wise yes.
Lockable elevation turret, and easer to set BT incremental markers in way of the fact you don't need a tool to undo the BT turret anymore.
The previous (Gen 2) iteration of the Z6 series had a lockable elevation turret. The markers are the same in function other than having a somewhat larger coloured marker.

Oh ,it’s just I have ordered the exact same ‘scope and obviously I am concerned about not marring my investment. Also it is going on a Steyr Prohunter 6.5 Swede,Will they clear that height wise?🤔Thanks

There are no marks on my scope from mounting them mate. As said they are a good brand and highly regarded.

I wouldn't put rubbish on a scope to risk damage.

I would go for either a set of Spuhr, TierOne, or these to be honest. Innomounts are good too, but expensive

Think I have the answer!
“Based on the provided search results, the grooves found on or in scope rings, particularly in high-quality or specialized mounts, serve several key purposes to ensure the stability of the optic:
  • Better Grip: Grooves on the inside of the ring improve the grip on the scope body, preventing it from slipping under the heavy recoil of rifles.
  • Adhesive Channel: The grooves are designed to hold adhesive or glue, which is sometimes used to further secure the scope inside the ring.
  • Structural Stiffening: In cases where rings or mounting systems are made of thinner materials, these pressed grooves act as stiffeners to prevent the metal from bending or losing its shape”
