Nice looking gun cabinets

Anyone got one ?
A gun cabinet that’s more furniture than steel grey box ?
Planning ahead and looking at loosing a cupboard so having a good looking gun cabinet might be better than finding somewhere else to hide the massive safe I have at present .

There is an odd guy or two who makes them ( they aint cheap). Always something i have thought of building one ( I have made quite a few steel safes and gunrooms in the past), however the first rule in security is storing in a place hidden from casual observers ( so what is the point in a nice safe that's hidden away ?)

There’s the Rolls Royce option: Although their stuff is more about showing guns off rather than hiding them away, they do have a few discrete options (eg the Bench Seat model). Worth having a look at the “Stock Items” page as they’re often offered at a bit of discount relative to having one made to your spec.

A more wallet friendly option would be having something made by these guys who were at the Game Fair last year: Unit Eight Bespoke Joinery | Workshop between Bristol & Bath

They effectively build wardrobes / cupboards that incorporate standard Brattonsound-type safes that are then hidden away behind wooden doors etc.

Their website doesn’t seem to have any pictures but, if you’re on Instagram, worth a look at their “Shows” highlights reel and clicking through until you get to the right place (about 3/4 of the way through).

I solved it by buying a bigger house so now I have one cabinet in the hunting gear room and one in the target shooting room in between I have the laundry room what I dont use so much so if I like I could rebuild it to a third hobby room.

Bought one secondhand off SD and have taken it apart to relive the insides, tidy up the woodwork and to potentially paint it (think Farrow and Ball) so it’s a better match for the rest of the house. That was to be a "Summer" project and just have not got around to it but I intend to as its a good 7 rifle plus cabinet with a second lockable compartment.

My mate has one. £6k new, got it second hand for about £750 a few years back. Decent bit of kit can't remember the maker, secure and looked nice. Had glass front. Worth £750 but not £6k would be my view

That wouldn’t be too hard to make actually 👍

Looks nice that, not over the top either.

i have a beautiful 100% cedar gun cabinet. i had to buy it from a custom cabinet maker which taught me take your drawing of what you want to a custom cabinet maker, select your wood and you will be happy with the results versus trying to find a completed work

Anthony and his team do some amazing work, they are not cheap but are beautiful pieces of furniture to last a lifetime. Cannot recommend highly enough if you want something that’s both very secure and good looking.
