Nice Sika stalking video

I hadn't realised they use sticks for Highland Deerstalking.

It’s not really open hill like the ‘true’ Highlands.

A lot of dense forestry, at all different stages. Quite unusual to have the luxury of a bipod shot because of the rough ground (clearfell, deep vegetation etc).

I thought I knew what I was doing when I first started stalking there. Quickly discovered that I really did not!

Hear what you say about the challenges. As an aside, doesn’t that fence line look so very attractive!

Not sure what your point is?

At least it’s not recent clearfell (of which there’s plenty there).

You seem to be unusually grumpy at the moment. All well?

Enjoyed the video - thanks for flagging it B.
Sadly the offending fence point is the way it is going in the Highlands too. Vast areas where the deer (and I) used to roam freely are now criss-crossed with similar scars both unsightly and a barrier to the reds traditional paths.
Evocative scenery reminiscent of the Highlands too - particularly for me as late last year I decided to hang up my high hills boots before the toes in which they sat for so long developed an upward form….

Beautiful location and well made film.

Face masks, I was involved in a film many years ago with a well known US hunting chap for the Sportsman channel, I wore one, he didn't, the reason....filming, viewers couldn't see his face!

Nice little video and timely as I pack a bag for a couple of days on the sika. Not sure I noticed the guest appearance of the ultralite!?

My point is as per post #10.

As for being "grumpy", not a bit of it as Kent's finest in-the-woods deer butcher with all but perfect operating temperatures:
