Scouting last weekend paid of at dawn today.
The group was in their new spot and this morning was the first chance wind wise I had chance to approach.
Approach was in the dark and I carefully ended up less than 100yds away.
They however decided to come towards me . Fortunately the light was coming and I could just make out the reticle when one of them turned broadside on with nothing behind it.
A 60 yards or so I could just see the reticle behind the front leg and instinctively the rifle fired almost unconsciously by me.
Heard a thump and off they went over the knob.
In the wood they slowly disappeared but two held back and wouldn't leave. A good sign I thought. After a few moments I moved in and found my doe.

Amended slightly! :)

A fine morning indeed, and one I sadly missed due to Man Flu. Had the fallow ambush planned with suitable backstop and extraction to the fore, but now only a dream in what might have been!

Well done you and the 30:30.
