This head went in a small pheasant feeder the lid screwed on and left, nature took over with a Robin also a Blackbird soon working what wriggled out the spring hole was edible...
What was left was a picked clean head which I left in a bucket of mild bleach last night. Wash off under the tap and on the radiator..
No smell or picking out holes with a piece of wire...bonus no power used.....

Looks ok.....once did something similar with a red deer skull and an ant heap. Never again.....

The walmer it is the faster they work.. Rushing around never works, assuming things will be fine rarely are lol.
Get a chuckney barrel and drill a 40mm hole in the bottom
