Has anyone used any of the noronna kit? Was wondering about the trousers and if they could in fact be waterproof - unlike any others that I have wasted money on so far........
They are and to be honest I don't want to spend any more money on something that doesn't work. I tried harkila which are expensive and seem great for woodland etc but got very wet when hill stalking as they soaked through when crawling etc.
you can get them from ray mears, if you won the lotto, but i think its very reasonable to get them direct from swazi, go on there website then join as a clan swazi member for discount plus at the minute they have 20% off
Nørrøna are pretty much top of the range kit over here and priced accordingly. Bergans (another Norwegian brand) also make good quality kit and are slightly more reasonable in price.

I bought the trousers on recommendation of a friend who uses them full time professionally. They are very expensive but worth every penny in my opinion. I have used them both in torrential conditions and in Summer heat and can only say their performance is excellent. They are quite a lightweight trouser with a very soft outer shell which is very silent and the colour is excellent for woodland stalking in the UK. They are a very smart looking trouser. Although lightweight they do seem to retain a good deal of warmth in the cold. I have sat for long periods in wet conditions and come away snug dry. They have taped zips and pockets with the exception of the thigh pocket which has press stud fittings, they also have taped inside thigh zips for cooling in the summer, these are a godsend. The only down side is that if you walk through brambles the material can and will pull slightly. I now avoid them whenever possible - steep learning curve! The trousers were so good I later bought the jacket which is equally as good, my only gripe with it being the size (or lack) of the pockets on the coat which are more of a fitted pocket without any gusset. It is difficult to put kit in the pockets without the jacket becoming even more fitted! If you had the money I would say go for the trousers. In comparison the Harkila jacket and trousers are a lot thicker material and I would say a bit more noisy against brushing undergrowth, but is also a lot warmer which may not bode well for summer stalking, but I would say the Harkila would be a lot more resistant to wear and tear. Just my tuppence worth..
