NRL Hunter UK

Download it so it does pass any VO limit

Sure you’ll find a load that works in it at the lower node

I absolutely could, but low ES, one hole groups with very good velocity are hard to walk away from, especially as it hits reds at distance like Thor's Hammer!

Personally I don’t see the point of having a target setup and deer one. But I only really shoot targets to get better at deer stalking and I believe the more I shoot the same gun load and bullet the better I will be with that combo…? But I’m a man with a simple brain

@NRL Hunter UK - would be interested in shooting a centrefire match for personal practice, but I would want to do so with my hind culling rifle and the ammo I stalk with, which both fall outside of your allowed parameters.

Any scope for another open or skills category which allows people to use kit which exceeds the specified .30 Cal 3275FPS limit and the 16lb limit?

Ben

@Utectok is absolutely right!

You can shoot skills division quite happily with your culling rifle, that’s the whole reason we have it.

Completely agree

But Ben is procrastinating about using a rifle he uses for deer that the current load will exceed (probably) range vo limit

So a different load is required

It also makes sense to use have separate match and deer killing loads (in my head anyway)

Certainly for the match I attended last time I used bullets and load appropriate for purpose

I wasn’t going to use my LTS load for deer work

The rifle is going on a minor diet soon so will make weight for other than skills class

I wish I could make the next match but have family commitments that weekend. Absolutely will be getting more NRL Hunter matches in this year, the last rimfire match was a blast!!

Hi @NRL Hunter UK had a curious conversation with a pal who contacted the police to up his ammunition allowance. Why he was asked and he said for NRL hunter matches and was promptly told he was not allowed to shoot targets on his ticket (zeroing and all legal quarry open ticket). I had always assumed that the NRL competition came under the practice and zeroing exemption on your ticket is this not the case? Was the FEO misinformed? Or will he need to get a variation?

This is one that varies Force by Force in their interpretation of HO Guidance and the legislation.

It’s on our FAQ but it’s worth putting on here in case anyone is wondering -

What conditions do I need on my FAC to take part?

All NRL Hunter UK matches and training events take place on ranges, as such will typically be shot with a 'target condition'. For those who do not possess a 'target condition' on their FAC but have the 'any/all lawful quarry, zero and practice' (even the wording of this varies by Force) condition, they must consult their local Police Force as to what they consider 'practice' as the interpretation of this condition varies significantly.

** Your local Police Force's decision is final and the onus remains with the member to ensure their FAC allows them to take part in any NRL Hunter events. **

If you have any questions in relation to this element please contact us on info@nrlhunter.co.uk.

"The whole purpose of NRL Hunter UK events are to improve the confidence, competence and safety of all hunters through organised practice. "
