NV Add-On?

I stalk some ancient woodland, and find even before dusk the woods can be awful dark. For my Blaser R8, the solution has been a Pulsar Digex C50 (which I easily swap on and off against a Hawke Frontier). But I also have this Bergara BA13 in .308, which I conceive of as my "no sticks" short, light (ish) rifle. Currently it has a Kahles Helia CL 3-9x42 scope on it. It's already dropped a good few beasts. But what is the best solution for that "frickin dark woods" problem, when I want to keep it light?

I have a thought that a NV rear add-on (a Ward or a Pard) would be a good solution. I usually wear a small ruck-sack when out so its no inconvenience, I suppose?

Or should I just go for the lightest NV scope as a permanent solution?

Thoughts?

After reading a great review on here I've just bought a Sytong HT66 add on and I've been impressed. Really easy to use, big buttons easy to locate and use by touch alone without having to.

I went for this as I want to be able to use it between a couple of rifles rather than a dedicated scope on one rifle.

I have got the same rifle as you and the only issue I can see with it is the eye relief. if you haven't got a good hold on the rifle you could end up with a black eye.

I do like the look of the Arken Zulus too and if I could justify the cost for a dedicated unit on one rifle then I think that would be my choice on the Bergara.

I highly rate the Pard007s on my PM2, day optic clarity that doesn't need batteries to fail on you in the daylight and a quick attach for low light & NV. Shorter than the older versions and just as easy to use.

Judging by the look of your scopes turrets you may be able to use the lrf variant but that apparently has a higher base mag?

And I thought one of the major selling points of a blaser is that they are shorter than a regular bolt action rifle
Yes they are, for a given length of barrel. But once you have the can on the front, etc, its still quite the bunduki.
