Officially the best knife for stalking that money can buy.

I had an issue with my Alan Wood mini Hunter. Sent it to him to check and it was all fixed (re-handled) and posted back to me within a week with apologies for the inconvenience. The true craftsman stand by his work. Mora’s work but have no soul.
So the handle came loose not broken as I mentioned if it breaks you don't get a replacement knife

Snap-on repair tools if they are broken, I have a few waiting to get chopped over. Back in the day when we spent a good few quid with them even if you had abused it he would swap it...

I would say if you sent an high end expensive knife back with a lump out of the cutting face It would not be replaced :tiphat:

As a general rule a knife should have a shape that helps prevent your hand running down onto the blade when wet, tired and or idiotic.
Not being so designed confers no benefit and in 30years we all do something stupid - I’d like to keep my finger tendons and ligaments thanks

Finger guards are for those who can't hold a knife properly.

If @Shabz wants to do a swap, I now possess his ideal knife "modified" to his preferred dimensions?

Atlas joint in the dark, and then an oh F moment!!!!

Why atlas joint? 🙈 Massively overrated and much easier ways to go about it

That was an expensive mistake

That actually looks perfect! 😂 just needs a bit of re profiling.

I’ve actually just had a full custom knife made and I’m still not convinced to leave my fallkniven at home.

Always been a mora fan function before form and all that . Whilst this is knives plural I wish I'd done it years ago . More regarding skinning than anything else . Unzipper .IMG_20250708_195058_418~2.webp

Why not?
What could possibly go wrong?
Oh...wait...🫣 hold on a minute.....😳😳😳
I have a sharp ISH mora heavy duty for spine crow bar duties.
NDS what is this easier way ? I'd be interested.
A machete does it, but it's not very refined.

I’ve had a fallkniven f2 for quite a while now, used it for twenty or thirty grallochs and would like to officially declare it the best knife I’ve ever used. I think the only improvement possible would be an inch shorter blade. Other than that, it’s fantastic. Great steel, great grind, easy to keep sharp and stays sharp for donkeys.

Absolutely recommended. Get one bought.

I have a PHK and love it.

Put the knife into the neck behind the windpipe under the chin, twist so the blade is facing outwards and cut therefore you’re technically cutting the deer’s throat instead of trying to find an irritating Atlas joint that if you do not get right you create more suffering than needed.

I’ve been doing it that way for as long as I’ve been stalking

Very nice.

Bet they are a pleasure to work with and bring a smile to your face when using. Can do the same job with Mora, Victorinox or Dicks but there is just something special about using quality tools.
Absolutely ! A Corsa can take you from A to B, but a Rolls Royce can do it in style...
Lovely, but did you commission the scales with a view to ensuring their early loss under in-the-field conditions?!
😁

Never lost a knife in my life. I love the gold poplar !
