Ok what would you do?

I think some of the replies are very unfair.... Eddie only asked a question, he thought about mentioning to the lads in the Landrover that it might be a good idea to keep the gun out of sight but he decided not to.
Personally I think we should do all we can to promote what we do (within the law of course).... I don't hide my rifle when crossing roads from field to field or hide in the hedge until the traffic has passed, I just drop the mag out so it's not "loaded" that's the key word.

So guys... give Eddie a break, we are all on the same side ;)

:tiphat: +1 Si...

Real turn off to see this still hanging about at the top logging on..

Ok so judging by most of the replies most of you would have left Derrick Bird to get on with things and just turned a blind eye if you saw him immediately before the shooting started.

At least we all know now where we stand!

Little bit different isn't it?!?!?

No no I wouldn't turn a blind eye to someone acting suspiciously with a firearm or shotgun, but some guy in a land rover on farmland with a rifle round these parts is not terribly suspicious.

Had you approached the bloke in question and he had taken unkindly to your interfering (fair chance he would be less than thankful) by your own admission you'd have possibly called the police. See how this could have escalated into something out of nothing.

As it was despite perhaps not being the most safety minded the guy wasn't committing an offence and from what you've said you have no particular standing which means you should be intervening with other members of the public unless you fear for public safety or have reason to suspect illegal activity.

If this truck had been about to drive into the entrance to a "Mall"........ Yeah, might have taken a big lot of notice & maybe made a call,....... out in the sticks ... it's normal, try creeping up on stuff in your truck while not being ready to rock!................ not a problem here, try to educate the townie passers by instead!

Mind you're own business and keep driving. If he isn't affecting you in anyway they why get involved. Half of the battle with shooting is worrying about busy body's and nosy gits mouthing off about something that has nothing to do with them. Your not a police officer and you are in no position of authority so leave him to do as he wishes until someone who is catches him.
