Out last night.

Managed to get out tonight after a lot of very heavy rain. Also blowing a hooley so not the most pleasant night to be out foxing. Still, better than TV…
First hillside nothing, then rain so packed and drove the 15 minutes drive homewards. En route the rain stopped and the bright moon came out so I called in to check a favourite spot and sure enough through the hedgerow I could clearly see a fox poking about. A simple two hundred yard stalk, set up in the shadow of the hedgerow, locate the fox in the Pard thermal spotter, acquire it in the Zulus - I know the field well so just point and shoot and my first fox in a while was in the bag. Gathered it just as the rain started again so packed up for the second time tonight and went home to a dram….

No shooting for me for a while , dreaded gout has flared up in my ankle and cannot walk ♿
Ouch! Been a martyr to “grout” for years - worst and most debilitating pain ever had - women who talk about childbirth have no idea!
Father had it, we laughed, Sister got it, she stopped laughing, brother got it, no more laughing from him, that left me laughing but not for long….
After many different responses from the GP and a referral to the local specialist who drained the fluid from my knee with a syringe the size of an old-fashioned bicycle pump, I found the specialist’s quick hit of 8 steroid tabs per day for 3 days and Colchichine nuked it best - by far.
You may find , like me, that GPs have “protocols” and will prescribe specific medicines which in my case simply do not work. Don’t be afraid to, err, put your foot down….
Hope it goes soon.

I releived myself of Gout, Permanently, can't remember how long ago .... think it was when I had the Hi-Cap Land Rover & that would be around 8/10 years back ... Allopurinol, I suffered intense pain for about two weeks on it, then it faded away ... one small tablet every day since.🍷🍺🍰🧂🍪

I am waiting to contact the Dr and get some Colcichin. I have heard of Allopurinol but dont think I get it regular enough to warrant it. So far this is only my 4th attack in 3 years but will consider it going forward.

Hope it gets sorted soon mate. I imagine there will be a few reports in the next couple of days about the return of biodiversity to the area

Pals are on it - with great success. Apparently when you first start it however it brings on an attack but then all good….

I haven't had gout since taking avermectin.
A ermectin doesn't fix gout but it does parasites and viruses that can overload the immune system and cause auto immune symptoms such as inflammatory disorders, such as gout.

I was informed by the Dr, The Allopurinol actually searches out hidden deposits of the uric acid crystals that cause the pain, usually taking about two weeks give or take, these crystalline deposits are shaped like a cylindrical dunce's hat, the pointy end is the bit responsible for the pain.
