Out last night.

Following up my post of last week where I was “outfoxed” by two of the blighters, one having a very pronounced limp. Went out two nights ago and was back home after 10 minutes, fog having curtailed any activity for the night. Out tonight and “limpy” obliged by walking across the same field as last time at about the same time, this time however he walked clear of buildings and a quick lip squeak stopped him at 120 yards. The triple deuce once again delivered the coup de grace. #22

Look forward to the pictures tomorrow.

Im out tonight , fingers crossed 🤞

Well i have missed one tonight at 45 yards ! Honesty not sure if an issue with the cartridge - i felt i was on it - but the report was so quiet i didnt take another shot as i expected to find the head stuck - I wonder if it could just be low powder ? Most odd

Set up in a field where we knew there was a fox knocking about after seeing it on another 2 occasions.

Quick look through the thermal revealed it in the adjacent field about 500 yds away. No amount of calling would tempt it so had to set off on foot and try and close the gap.
Turned out there was a pair of them but they vanished out of sight.

Anyway I eventually spotted it 202 yds away in the next field ...vixen cub 😀

Lovely dog fox tonight - picture to follow when phone has some charge ! and maybe the video !

Went to a spot where i have had a bit of success of the suggestion of the wife - to have my new HIK camera notify me of activity at the spot i was going to !
Anyway patience is a virtue soi sat and stood and sat again - hoping it would come to then receive another notification of a clearly different fox in the same spot !

So i waited some more - to have a fox come into the field about 250 yards away clearly eating something - maybe the bait ? who knows - i wait hoping / thinking it will come to the bait near me - but it stays put for half hour - just as im contemplating taking the shot another appears to my right but is not safe - so i think sit tight surely one will come to the bait. The first then looks up and moves off - the wrong way - i just start cursing my luck when it comes back into the field after 35 mins - It works its way up and down a shelterbelt - in and out of hedges - coming to the bait but no at 120 yards it turns and starts going across the field - i have no shot as its the back of the hedge and the little .204 does not like brush - so i follow - it makes the mistake of coming off the hedge - the end
