Out last night.

Always keen to learn & improve - you guys getting multiples regular @Smellydog @bumpy22 @Nickb what would you have done in that situation? Gone looking for her? Caller back on?
Wouldn't call again don't rely on calling. They are very intelligent and will run the opposite way.
Would definitely sit and wait longer.
IMHO people think there is one fox to follow. But in my experience the distance they cover is large. With decent numbers passing through where food is high
The amount of foxes that pass through a area is surprising. Thermal has changed my opinion of this over a red filter.
Also don't be reliant on the disco box

Probably not a option for you but as you know Ben I do multiple nights each week to cover all my ground.
This very rarely results in more than one fox.
But I don't have many blank nights

Got to keep at them

Cheers for replies fellas. I didn't turn caller back on as I thought she'd associate it with her mate suddenly dropping dead!

To be honest, if I'd shot it at 10pm I'd have hung on or gone looking. But it was getting on for 1 o'clock & I knew i was up for 6.

That'll be me done on foxes this side of Christmas.

Hope all on this thread have a great festive time, eat drink with family. 👌

My results with the caller are really hit and miss and I only use it sparingly at the moment. I went out Sat night at home and saw 4 but all 400 + and all going like heck chasing one another with a bit of calling. Tried the caller for a bit but absolutely no reaction. Every time I headed off to get closer they appeared where I had been...kept me fit and had to laugh...despite all the kit its not as easy as some think :)

Merry Xmas to all on here 🎅

Out last night for a couple of hours, saw loads of rats in the hedge bottoms, think a trip out with a smaller rifle is in order. Spotted a heat source at about 400 yards and thought badger. I usually see one there but it wasn’t moving like a badger. Closed the gap to 200 yards and it turned into a fox, then a pair. Took the front one at about 100 yards and it ran and dropped into an overgrown ditch. That’s me out today looking for it! Very hard hit and number 25 if I can find it. ☹️

I was miffed when I went start the truck last night, all loaded up for the farm ... Heater plug bank inoperative, I really hate getting out a tin of ether, some vehicles seem to get addicted to it .... sooo, heater plugs all still good & now I am operating the plugs circuit switched manually, good to go tomorrow night, luckily the low cloud will have shifted by then. 🤨

LR?
Years ago we wired the glow plugs independently and the starter solenoid. Much better.
God I hate modern diesel's.
