Out last night.

Sachets of the cheapest fish based cat food in jelly, I find that a different smell than that of the chickens works a little better, seems to get their interest up enough that they can’t resist investigating the source.
Those things were fatal when I was doing the council cemetary in E Port.

Never mind “out last night” - awake at 5, coffee, check of SD posts and quick pop outside for weather update - looking good!
Got dressed, lifted rifle and thermal spotter from upstairs, excitement starting to build - don’t you just love these pre-dawn fox outings…..
Back down 2 minutes later - armed, dangerous and ready to go - absolutely pouring down.
So your man is now fully kitted out, armed to the teeth, adrenalin coursing through him and standing like an eejit in the pitch black listening to the mildly irritating constant drumroll on the conservatory roof! Bugger!
I wonder if Mrs FB is awake…..

Check out Xc weather, just type in location very accurate normally.

Really like the Warden Dark Engine IR.
It's transformed the Sytong 66 performance.

Also found the buck and doe on this place.
They were frozen after my shot on a fox.
Didn't move for ages, just listening.
It's not a fantastic video and I didn't zoom in much but they are over 200yds away.
Gives someone an idea maybe etc....

It’s good to see some Roe around the place, the last I saw were at Dereks a couple of years ago.

I had 15 rats the other night with the 22.

Brings to mind a ratting visit few years back, a huge ornamental duck breeding place, open air & wired in, rats tunnelling everywhere, we went in in full dark on red lamps &10/22’s, cut story short one big rat was shot on entering enclosure, went up in the air about 18” … falling back down onto the electric fence just above ground level, still squeeling it was pounced on by an even bigger rat & dragged off into the tunnels 😄
