Out last night.

I just needed a little bit of cast off for my fat round face, the comb is very thick. It's only got one shim to increase drop so I sanded one side thinner than the other. It's just added the bit of cast off I needed.
I've fitted the shorter barrel. Mines 25" and 27". Fitted the imp.cyl choke.
Excellent! You have made me think - must measure the barrels! I did think it looked a tad like a Post Office special with the short barrel!

Well blow me down! Don’t listen to them Smelly - you are a genius! The Hatstand Luxano barrels are indeed 25 and 27 inches long - a full inch shorter than I thought.
Thank you.

Err, just a technical thought - as this obviously makes the intended quarry further away do I need to give them more lead (distance) and more lead(pellets)?

Well of course ol' chap. I think if you use any cartridges in fancy box's and the words ultimate or extreme, maybe ultra or super written on the box, or high flyer they should make up for the increased range 👍🏻

It’s a cold one tonight ,but it’s dry and that’s all matters, so grabbed the 222 and off for a walk . I had only been out for about 10 mins and saw this young lady heading for the chicken coop , so a little squeak she stopped, turned 180degs and came sprinting towards me, stopped about 80m and job done 👍🏻IMG_0866.webp

Just got home from my first outing of the year, that wind is proper cold. Had a vixen at 116m that wandered over to a dog fox mating call. Then had a great big dog at 80m that showed interest in the vixen on heat. Neither screamed in, just a tentative nosey. .204 ruger dropped both on the spot.

Out tonight got two, this vixen was sat tight not interested in any calls, shouted she sat up and that was that. Hour later another sat about 100 m away refused to move, shot and hit hard but also hit the fence wire about 3 feet in front of it, watched it through the Alpex spinning away up the hill into conifer wood, will follow up tomorrow with GWP.

So took the dog to the strike and set him off, 5 minutes later he pointed the dog. It had made it to the recycling yard not the wood as suspected , it was a massive dog that’s a 1/2 brick next to it , the bullet had deflected low off the wire and hit the stomach, a good one to go.
