Yes bait going, I collected just skin and a few ribs when I went this afternoon.
Reckon I must have given up to soon tonight but after 3 hours and the constant shoulder pain it was no fun.

Mine came in for a Muntjac carcase tonight. Cold and they are hungry Ken, 11 o'clock and it was having a Muntjac supper... The Last Supper!

Mine came in for a Muntjac carcase tonight. Cold and they are hungry Ken, 11 o'clock and it was having a Muntjac supper... The Last Supper!

Someone asked me to remove a Munt carcase from their garden in the village, the back end was tunnelled out by a fox overnight & the bloody thing stank. Good fox bait but I hate leaving any carcase lying about on the farm, so I buried it. Foxes arn't the only thing they attract, buzzards circling around like vultures, badgers, rats pesky critters everywhere. Not to mention the Maggots until recently there was plenty of flies around too in December. I gralloched a munt out recently, let the head & guts out, put some bait down, & a camera nearby, bloody fox came along so I ran to the bedroom, fox was sitting in the hedge gnawing on the rotten head, couldn't see it in the NV so an hour later I gave up & went to bed. That was the one I shot last night.

My big dog has buggered off. I could hear him about a mile off me. I think he has realized that in the interest of his health he should stay away for a while, we will see!
So I went to another farm and it keeps yielding.
Vixen came in to the hare squeal and then her sweetheart turned up not long after.
The vixen runs after a not ideal shot for the 222 but it didn't last long, the claret gushed!

In the warmer months if I bait I lift a few turfs with a spade and place any bait under these, it keeps the flies at bay and stops the raptors from robbing it all, I only use whole carcase at this time of year. If you dig a shallow grave for any "Fox Chum" and hump up the soil over it all you can see from a distance if it's been ripped open. I chop most small stuff like squirrels, rats, etc up with a machete and chopping block... keeps them on the spot longer.

If we do get the threatened 14" of snow tonight / tomorrow, will get right up on the tops, be seeing any movement straight off.

It’s not the best place to put a camera, the one i tried early last year was gone within two days.
Probably something to do with the guy that puts sandwiches out sometimes but that’s just supposition.
I do have a cam (Not cellular) that wasn’t expensive so perhaps try again.

I've got a sneaky feeling a red deer is about.
Last night I think I heard a little roar. It came from land that has not livestock on it at all!

And today I found more fresh tracks.

It makes you lazy! I’ve shot 90% of mine from the bedroom this year and hardly been “out foxing” at all. Miss it, New Year’s resolution!!
