Out last night.

That's the problem.
Whilst smokeless powders are generally regarded as non corrosive if mixed with water be it condensation or from whatever a corrosive solution can be produced.
is this the white crystal stuff that comes out of the mod?
i must say i put a 9mm pistol cleaning nylon brush through the mod before and after use
ive only ever stripped it down one time, a job for gloves a wire brush and a cleaning tank
i wouldnt say i fire that many rounds god knows how the target boys get on

I don't know about that but usually anything involving a combustion process involves the forming of corrosive elements

Well decided to pop back down to the orphan paddock early last night to see if the dog was about fae the vixen I got fri night as was to be sleet after 8pm , got there app 5.45pm still plenty light set the caller up but decided to wait it out for couple of hours. Sat there watching the world go by could see Roe deer feeding across the gully, couple of woodcock in the paddock feeding away , and then app 6.45pm seen one of the woodcock fly away and checked down the bottom and sure enough here comes the fox , rifle up Zulu on safety off and down it went job done , it was the dog . Ps dont know about you Zulu guys but this is only my third outing with it and keep forgetting to press record, had a little play last night while waiting ,set it up for night 1 bar IR and RECORD , then stand by and wallah hit start and it goes right into record etc HTH.20250216_193027.webp

Out on a new permission last night, 700 acres in the middle of forestry which has never been shot. Found a nice spot to park the truck with a fantastic field of view.
Got set up and set the Foxpro away , after around 12 minutes had a fox coming in from the far forestry at a steady pace to the cub call.
Came in to 102 yds and down he went , nice dog fox.
Left it quiet for a while and then set the caller away again with cub call . Immediately had another fox come from the forestry and made its way steadily towards us stopping at 152 yds , straight down this time a vixen . It started raining a bit so decided to leave and look on the lower ground as didn't want to get stuck.
Called another one down there but unfortunately sneaked through the rushes unseen until it was too late and no opportunity of a shot.

Cub call is working great at the minute 😁

That's us on 10 so far for 2025

You keep forgetting to hit “record”?
For goodness sake - silly blueeyes! After only a year of forgetting to hit the same button I my friend discovered the same trick as you just did…

Got one that had been eluding me for months tonight. Lame on one foreleg. Saw it about 200 yards away and thought it had p!$$€d off, but suddenly it was about 30 yards in front to the right. Didn't want to make a noise moving the tripod, so fired from the'wrong; shoulder with the 'wrong' eye. #8

#10 for me last night - it's been on the camera the last few nights and gradually getting more sociable (started appearing at 3am initially). I had a feeling last night would be the night - laundry basked in place in front of bedroom window with rear bag and thermal on top waiting to go. Fox popped out about 7pm just as I was sitting down for dinner so grabbed the rifle, got set up and all done before my dinner had a chance to get cold
