Out last night.

Hmmm. Picked her up this a.m. after circumnavigating most of NI to find a way into the field. The VMax entered the chest pretty much central then exited well past, like really well past the last rib - horrendous wound, defo not for the camera. Still don’t know how it got up so fast….

Would you have let a deer that long...hope not! I would have (and do) whack it asap.

#17 for me.
I'll pick it out of the turnips in the morning, I'll need my waders on to get across the stream.
It was an opportunistic chance, I was all ready to load the motor up and head a mile down the road to the farm and my missus asked me to take the dogs into the garden before I went, a quick look with the thermal and I spied a foxy image, a quick scrabble indoors for a rifle & sticks and it was bingo @ 167.yards.
I did see another on the farm but it was too far away and never looked at the mouse squeaker, one for another night.

Thanks for the confirmation - we don't get to see much mange around here - except for when the 'charities' have been visiting. I spoke to a farmer who rents some ground on the same farm earlier today - he said that a fox had calmly walked out in front of him as he drove in yesterday. He said that no country fox would have acted in the way the one he saw did, so it backs up my belief these had been dumped.

It's a shame that a class action couldn't be brought by a number of our organisations working together - say, the NFU, BASC and the NGO, to prosecute those concerned. I'm sure that enough evidence could be gathered if there was the will. I know several farmers who've caught people in vans/trucks with caged foxes inside, so it wouldn't take long...
I have a mate who after shooting a dodgy looking fox was confronted by a guy from an animal charity who said he'd released 21foxes on this piece of land to which my mate replied that he's shot 20 of them...The guy went apoplectic apparently ......😂

Another vixen for me last night. The only one I saw so think I'm back on top of the sudden population boom🤣 . I'm getting some splashing from the 32gr vmax out the .204, I'll start a thread on the reloading page for those interested.
Have you tried 39 grain?
Cheers, Ken.

Reloading Solutions are showing 35 and 40 grn Bergers in stock. £55 box!
I thought most factory. 204s are 1:12.
