The coats of the roe and foxes look correct for the time of year that this would be taking place as does the grouping behaviour of the deer. Can’t make out antler growth on the bucks though. Could be real, but just looks unlikely to me. What do I know!

Reminds me of the time I was driving down the motorway one frozen January and I looked across a field to see a mounted fox and vixen with a crow sat on top of the dog!!
I could believe the audacity of a crow to do that while they were indisposed!

We had a very bright night on Sunday,so took a drive out to a good vantage point and spotted a fox heading across one farm towards another that meant about a 2 mile drive around to it to have the wind in my favour
Drove round and parked up in the yard and as I walked out into the first field I picked up a fox in the spotter,I put it down and realised I could see him clearly by eye
Rifle up on the sticks and yep,clear as day at 40 yards!
Continued on into the third field with the ewes in it and a second fox at 80 yards
Wonder if he’ll be as clear…couldn’t believe how well he stood out 2nd dog down

I ventured out in the mist and drizzle and intermittent showers last night .

Thermal not great but could still make out the rabbits I was after.

Last week when I was out after a fox I noticed more rabbits about than usual in the winter barley .

Told farmer I would reduce their numbers before the youngsters are born.

Anyway I had a successful session clearing up 29 and also saw a fox which I just couldn't get close enough to with the HMR .
