Out last night.

Not a fox to be seen last night , just loads of Roe and hares.

Got a call this morning from a farmer who's son is losing hens , he has contacted the keeper who hasn't bothered his arse so we are going tonight for 6pm.

So no pressure to get a fox on new ground that is keepered.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Managed to serve divorce papers on the Hubby of the pair last night, considering the strength of the half gale & gusts, I gave me a pat on the back!, the truck was rocking like a rowing boat, & keeping hold of the rifle all the time as I was feared of it tipping over , Back again tonight for his Missus, Exit wound..IMG_0119.webp

So the forecast for last night was dry. Left the house and indeed it was dry...walked up the lane and onto my neighbours ground and it ****ed down and was blowing a gale...so headed home and pretty well as I got back to the house the rain stopped....headed out across my other neighbours ground which was like a bog...so decided to call it a night. Looked through the thermal and there was a fox 300 yards away. It obligingly headed through into our bottom field and then straight towards me and through the hedge into the field I was in. Quick squeak to stop it and down he went to an 80 yard chest shot.

Well great result last night. Met farmer and had a good bit craic , told us a fox had been coming in the barn and taking hens. He said the keeper was useless and never went foxing even though he had asked for help with this problem.

Anyway we got set up out the back of the barn and had a dog fox with no teeth on the ground within a couple of minutes which was heading to said barn .

Farmer rang as heard shot and was well impressed.

We continued and got set up on the 2nd stand and had another toothless dog fox within a minute , mate shot this one at 252 yds 👌

Did call in a 3rd fox but it hung up and no shot presented itself.

Great piece of ground and farmer has said you are welcome to come back anytime , bollocks to the useless keeper 🤣

Spot on there mate 👍

More pre lambing thinning out planned for tomorrow... warning of snow ❄️ 😳 Will take the rifle and hopefully once I'm done shoeing for the day I'll manage a few hours, lots of barking and smell of fox reported... my tyres are 3 Snow flake rated whatever that means 👀😅

I thought you feral lotted had been warned about barking...or did you mean the foxes

Still never heard a single fox bark up North ...sure they are all mute 🤣
Scared more like ... and with good reason  Back out tonight...apparently it will be dry...the one farm is likely to be bog like conditions so imagine the truck will be even more of a muddy mess tomorrow lol
