A few rats around sheep feeders and in dry stone wall is always a welcome bonus 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀

A lot of rabbits were pregnant does so that keeps the numbers down a bit before being dropped.

Good lad. As long as you got zero enjoyment out of it and can name all the plants and trees in latin then this is allowable.

If you continue working your way up and have 450 years experience you may be allowed to shoot the fabled muntjac...only allowed to be shot by the grand masters :lol: :lol: 👍

No enjoyment whatsoever...miles of hedgerows to protect , dont know the Latin name sorry.

#25 and #26 tonight. A dog and vixen. Which you could call a right and left.
Started calling at poultry unit. had the dog come flying in to about 50 yards. A quick shout stooped. As I fired could see another behind running away down the hedge. A loud shout had her stop long enough at 140 yards to get shot away. Very small barren vixen.
Will be a happy farmer as it's a constant battle here on the foxes. 20260323_212214.webp

Couldn't believe how much difference travelling 4 miles can make to weather near me, granted we are only 350 metres ASL at the house & very little breeze, I could not keep my feet at the farm around the same height ASL, must have been blowing a 30 mph gale, & it pushed the rifle over, luckily onto a range mat, had to wrap it up at 21:30.:eek:

My mate has just finished building his fox box at the back of his garden which overlooks farmland so we decided to try it out.

I put out the caller and settled into our seats. 1st scan with the thermal revealed a fox at the bottom of the field so picked young rabbit distress on the Foxpro . The fox immediately came trotting up the field ending up 5yds from the caller ( yes they do work 🤣) and shot at 55 yds.

A nice barren vixen 😁

Then it was off to another place , watched a pair over the boundary which wouldn't call as preoccupied with each other.

Nicely done there mate. Im amazed to see a fox caller working as I was informed by the oracle (or is orifice) that they are a waste of time...and that was the Terminator himself ... oh well cant always be right :lol: :lol: 👍

Dont think Timmy the Terminator will be posting back in this thread after how it ended on CL55s and saying you posted for "slaps on the back from the fox gang"... a little rude since he has previously posted in here....but maybe thats just to impart his vast wisdom to the rest of us :lol: :lol:
