When we still lived in Chester, we used to shoot Sellatyn mountain / Oswestry areas regularly, some nights we'd blank, but get home & we were still on bin bags at the time, find Charlie ripping open the bags on the kerb.

To be fair I had this happen maybe 15 years ago. I was out lamping (old school) and picked up a couple of cubs on a stubble field. Gave them a squeak and they were coming in nicely...next thing mum gives a screech and they turn tail and leg it full pace into the wood. People talk about lamp shy foxes (or they did in olden days) ...but in reality its just clever foxes teaching the kids to be cleverYou can go off people you know!!!
I once went to work on an active earth, cubs skipping about everywhere, & shot 3 with the .22 subs, & heard the vixen calling from the middle of the field, it wasn't a call it sounded like she was screaming, like an old woman being strangled, I'll never forget that cacophony .To be fair I had this happen maybe 15 years ago. Its surprising their range and variety of calls. I was out in Jan and would have bet £100 that the fox that was calling was a vixen as it wasnt the "typical" 3 barks of a dog fox..bloody thing was screeching as it headed down the field towards me. Shot it and it was a dog fox.

Oh im certainly more comfortable as jester than king. And we've already got fair share of delicate princesses on here!!!
Maybe it identified as a Vixen, after what I'm hearing about new Furries, Im going home. Bloody people identifying as animals, walking around with tails, they could be squirrels or foxes or whatever, they even put a cat litter tray down for them in a college. WTF
