probably one for @mealie jimmy
just got an e mail from Scott country re the new pard DS 35 70
pics show no LRF or IR.
a straight scope. At last.

my question is has there been any further improvements under the skin or are the mechanics the same on performance as per the older DS ??? Apart from the the removal of the LRF and IR

cheers

phil

And same price???

Edit - tbf seen Ian has them cheaper. Sportsman price is same for with or without ir.

I honestly thought same when seen em coming out … but seen one and a play via Bruce’s man cave …. And it seems fairly robust and the reports of the onboard Lrf & IR are all good …. Why want one without the starship enterprise bit ?
Your only having to use your own clamp / IR and I do to ow any that are smaller lighter than the original onboard swan neck affair ?

For me the original I think I would be snagging the RF and the IR and probably damage it, I don’t need a range finder and my IR is on a spring loaded QD mount which suits the scope and so easy to take off/ on - its seconds

on Scott country website they said they had a number of concerns over the RF or the IR. blocking a external IR which may effect the sales prospects hence a re launch

That says a lot for Pard - it shows they listen to the customers - that on its own says Pard are on the ball and want to please, a very rare commodity these days for sure

Using an external IR ? A simple weaver accessory rail and weaver riser block over comes the issue. I use this myself when I need clearance.
