Pard007SP

tbf I wasn't impressed with the image when I had a look in daylight, he tells me it's brilliant at night,
Yeah he's right - day time it's crap even compared to a cheapo 3-9 x 40. The night time image is brilliant until you get to about x14

I used to love the sightmark wraith amazing picture at night but after a couple of updates zero went west.
If you were lucky it held 2 or 3 outings tops.
Now got a Sytong ht (pard copy) it's fine on a Hawke Vantage front Ao.
Regret selling my 007 pard they just work and with a Solaris srx on mighty fine.

What scope would you put it on Ben? I keep going round the houses with the options. Still like my scope and lamp setup for the simplicity.

I've a scope I got from OPW few years ago..it was an ex demo/trial of one that they didn't decide to stock , I love it. 3-18x56. Lad from OPW said it's basically a sentinel?? Nothing fancy

My infiray Tl35 is a game changer ,got it 2nd hand for about 900 quid.
Thermal is forever " improving " and as long as someone is stepping up there's baargins to be had .

the image at night is decent
The image at night is bloody fantastic, I'm not knocking that at all mate. I've never looked through a drone, but only thing I've seen that was possibly better than Alpex was my Yukon sightline n470S. But guess why I got rid of that @Nickb ???? Yep - too heavy for my pussyo biceps!! 😂😂

I had an SP Ben and they are very good except the base mag is very high so unless you're scope goes down to 2x or lower you lose a lot of field of view.
It had a few funny quirks I didn't get to the bottom of like when on standby it would mysteriously become active again.

That's actually part of the appeal.

But... I've always fancied a DS35 without lrf & no onboard IR. OPW have them under £300 at minute so think I'll give one a go..if it's not ticking boxes I'll put it on 22lr & get the 007sp for foxes.

I have a ds3550 bare model.
In bright weather the picture isn't great but you can still load some ballistic data if you can guess the range well enough.

The Vulpine is light and doesn't affect head position. It also frees up the scope for day use. It doesn't have the 'bells and whistles' of the Alpex, but the latest 007's does and with the right IR they are very good. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, the inbuilt magnification is a deal beaker for many. If Pard sorted that out, it would imo, be a much better option than any dedicated unit.

A valid point. What I would say though is if @BenBhoy is concerned about weight saving it's probably not the way to go. My Vulpine on the back of a 4-24 Delta Titanium with a Wraith IR weighed about as much as my Hik Alpex 4k. You could of course seek out as light as possible side focus scope and stick with the Blade IR to cut a bit off.

I use a 3-12x44 Hawke Frontier on my heaviest rifle and a LL ESL IR. You're perfectly correct though....my previous scope on this rifle was a 6-24x56 Sidewinder that made an already heavy rifle hard going.
