Yes. Under UK Home Office statutory guidance, certificate holders must notify their police firearms licensing department of any relevant medical conditions diagnosed after a licence is granted. Neurological conditions like Parkinson's disease must be disclosed because they can affect physical control, judgment, or reaction times. [1, 2, 3]
Failure to disclose a diagnosis is taken very seriously and can lead to the revocation of your licence, as police must be satisfied you can possess a firearm without posing a danger to public safety. [1, 2]
To fulfill your notification requirements:
  • Contact your GP: Speak with your doctor about your diagnosis. They will need to assess how it impacts your ability to safely handle a firearm and may share this information with the police.
  • Notify the Police: Contact the firearms licensing department of your local constabulary (e.g., Suffolk Constabulary if you are local to Ipswich).
  • Consult your certificate: The declaration you signed when granted your licence legally obligates you to report any new relevant diagnoses or treatments while the certificate is valid. [1, 2, 3]

Definitely must be disclosed, in the early stages the feo’s are usually lenient, but as progresses they will ask for the GP’s opinion, in my fathers case that was every 6 months. He had PD diagnosed for 2 years before his certificate was withdrawn, and battled another 3 years after that - early diagnosis and treatment is key, and seek expert advice on treatment over and above the NHS if affordable

Did a cycle ride a few years ago from London Velodrome to Bruges , several guys with us had PD, awesome lads. A few of them also relayed sections of our JOG - LE ride a couple of years ago.
They all said it was exercise that massively helped them. There is an organisation called Sport Parkinsons.
Good luck to you.
