Pendragon rifle barrels

A couple of my friends in the trade have used them for rifle builds - they have had decent results in terms of accuracy

I believe one of their barrels won the Target Rifle event at Bisley either last year or the year before

I haven’t made the jump to them as I’m perfectly satisfied with the barrels I use for my client builds and my own (Bartlein, Brux, Phoenix, Lothar Walther) in no particular order of preference or quality I hasten to add

The problem is availability I've been unable to find a barrel for my 17FB anywhere off the top of my head I need a one in seven twist!

Jack (JR Firearms) is putting together an order for 17 cal barrels of that helps you

I have a pendragon on mine and it’s fantastic 1/4 moa all day long in the tunnel range, fitted by Jager Sporting near Ely. Really good price and if it’s a standard calibre he does an offer from time to time.

You are correct a Pendragon won the TR Kings Prize last year. Everyone I know that has had one has really liked the results.

JR Firearms, Steve Kershaw and Brock and Norris have commissioned .17 1-9 barrels to be made by Pendragon. They are probably a couple months out. Obviously other rifle builders will also be able to order them.

An order is already in place between several customers, there have been delays due to tooling etc. but David is currently working on their development.

Could you expand on accuracy of the ecm barrels please
Are you having issues with them then or just looking for feed back also?

I’ve worked up loads for a few over the last few years no where near as many as yourself, Mike etc just mine, colleagues & range rifles. Some have needed a minor tweak after a number of rounds be it a very minor charge or seating alteration.
This ECM barrel is being used with one of the dirty powders & the loads grouped quite well during the work up to the final load. Not one of them would have failed the accuracy guarantee most rifles come with bog standard. I’ve always favoured accuracy over speed & the last group I shot I stopped at as five in a single circle is normally more than most are happy with. This is for target though so when our range wheelchair access is finished in a few weeks 🤞 I’ll see if seating will offer anything further. Why not?
I use the same cleaning products as I’ve a couple of large bottles etc from the shows & this cleans up pretty sharpish over my others.

I’ve fire formed 300 cases, using three powders & different primer combinations. The fired/resized cases are the same as the load found during fire forming so more than happy so far.

I’ll be honest, first time fire forming. Weren’t keen on it or looking forward to it at all, but it went smoothly & it went well, The cherry on the cake was finding the load during forming & it being repeated aftera clean, resize/reloading.

I’ll chrono the final load for the Kestrel.

Have you had any issues then

Using an ECM, very accurate & very easy to clean. It will be replaced with another no doubt whatsoever

Thanks for the reply

I haven’t used Pendragon yet

I’ve been sitting on the shelf on them for a while and wondered how an end user had found them

I tend to judge acceptable (adequate) accuracy to be sub half MOA or less to be honest

👍🏻

To be be fair though, I think we all read & check reviews but the proof in the pudding is always in the eating. You’ve a good rep, should put one together for yourself, surely do you a deal/taster for the first one as another potential outlet for them. Treat yourself 💯🎯
