Sentence seems a bit lenient considering what he was trying to do.

It's Norn Ireland. I'm fairly sure a rummage around the base of a few remote hedges would've been a lot less trouble and a lot more productive

He cannot go back to the US as he is now a criminal but if he ever did he would be charged there with obtaining firearms without being classed as a US resident where you would have to have been more than 90 days in country.

Barrel looks a bit short for a 16inch rifle, presumably an AR pistol?

10 months suspended is massively inadequate for importing that lot.

The article doesn't say what he wanted them for. I assume there wasn't a terrorist angle to it or surely he would have been getting a much bigger sentence. Wonder why he wanted them.
