Last two weekends we've been out, the woods are dead just no pigeons about in North Yorkshire.
Trying another location this Saturday that's suffering crop damage so fingers crossed our luck may change.
As a matter of courtesy since I started this thread, an update of today's results pigeon roost shooting. I saw one.( I think). If you can keep the the faith like me, I'm going to see it through next week too. I'm glad there's not five Saturdays in February. On a serious note I said from week one that I've always thought that pigeon roost shooting is great for steadying my Spaniels, as in sitting calm watching me. Today I'm convinced it's working, next week being the last one I'm going to try to get the Spaniels to stop giggling.
So the last Saturday on the pigeon roost shooting. One squirrel and four bluey greyish birds that I'm going to check in my birds of Britain book tomorrow. I told my wife I was going to get enough to feed us, so I called at the chippy on the way home. In all honesty I've spent twelve hours plus over four weekends with my two dogs doing not a lot of shooting, quite a lot of looking and watching and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. That's another four weekends they can't take of me
