Plan B?

This is the real misinformation.

This is NOT like the flu. It kills more people, uses up more health resources and leaves many with lasting illness.

Looking at yesterday’s figures on average one hospital ward per hospital is taken up looking after Covid cases. Not just beds but nurses and doctors. This means than one less ward is able to treat patients with life threatening illnesses like Cancer. Look at the news and the queues outside A&E this is because of Covid taking up resources. As a consequence of Covid more people are dying from cancer and heart attacks because the system is stretched. It is thought that more people will die from lack of resources in the NHS because of Covid than from Covid itself.

You might not be unwell but in the twenty you infect one might be and they will take up valuable resources and affect the lives of others. All of this is avoidable if people stop thinking about themselves and think of others.

My grandfather fought in both wars and I am sure he was ordered to do things he didn’t want to but he obeyed for the greater good. We are at the same crossroads now. If people did what was asked of them without question we would as a country be in a better place.
I didnt say it was like the flu, I said its barely dangerous to the majority of people and we should treat it like the flu.

So treating it like the flu is not the same as saying it is no worse than the flu?

This is where you are so very wrong for all the reasons I have explained. This complacency is why our rates are so high compared to others.

There is a reason why the BMA have done what they have done today. It’s not because they want to cause trouble and spread panic, it’s because there is a real issue going on and we are ignoring it. We did this last autumn and look what happened.

Life is very much back to normal here in Sweden. Covid cases are up a little bit but that's only to be expected this time of the year. What did I do differently during the pandemic? Well not a lot. I've had my two jabs will have a booster if offered and will book my flu jab when I get back from the paranoid lurgy ridden UK. Don't forget folk's to save the basket case NHS. Heaven forbid you should expect a decent service for the money you've paid into it. But then again it's a service and like the other well known services it's best not to expect to much.

"Keyboard doctors that obviously know best"

Jumping in with statements as such Norfolk Deer Search made doesnt mix well for any kind of discourse and I would say that is "this is SD at its worst", not people having an opinion on our current social and health situation.

Big Ears has said above about our complacency has led to our high figures compared to others.

Our high case numbers cant instantly be attributed to complacency of the British public, we carry out far more tests per million population than probably any other country and that cant be ignored. You test more you find more.

Nobody has to be an expert in infectious diseases to read in interpret published government figures etc.

Have we been testing more in the last month or two than we were before?

Yes, schools are back, venues that weren't open previously want proof of tests (football etc), travel is more available now which required testing and some companies require testing before going into offices.

If the question is will the Government implement Plan ‘B’ this Autumn/Winter the answer is surely in their reference to the 100K per day infection figure during last night’s statement.

It should be quite clear to even those with zero interest in politics that in the interest of the economy the Government intend to let C-19 rip and the NHS must therefore dig even deeper and get with the concept.

I fear you might be right and there is a very dark cloud heading our way called privatisation of parts of the NHS.
It has always been in their agenda, now they have an excuse.

Sorry you are wrong.

Official figures show tests staying static and infections increasing.

The question was "are we doing more testing than the last month or two" ok so I was out by a month but as the graphs show we ARE doing more testing since July (which ok I admit was 3 months ago).

Edit: I've added 2 months ago and again we are doing more testing (peaking at over 300,000 more tests per day)

Numbers taken from here if you'd like to check https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/testing

The graph looks like a flat line for last month whilst we are seeing a 17% increase in cases.
Sorry your argument is wrong. Admit it.

Not wrong at all, I've even provided actual numbers from the official website (as a line on a graph without them is pointless), you need to quit while your behind

Edit: your actual post includes a graph which points out that the testing is up 79,513 (1.2%) on the previous week but you've chosen to ignore it.

The problem is most for the british public are Fukwitz that also goes for most of the covid experts and closet doctors on the SD!

Crack on you lot on and i truly hope you dont catch it, ive seen first hand what it can do, including the the loss for 2 friends, both who were also in denial about the affects of covid, both left wives and young children.

I hope most of us do crack on.

Many people have seen what it can do first hand and in the majority of cases people feel under the weather for a few days to a couple of weeks.

Well said 👍 unfortunately- educating ignorance has always been an endless task.
