Wanted: Platinum CWD and Munty

Anyone know of any stalker/estates that hold Platinum medal CWD and Munty , looking to stalk these. So any pointers would be good.

No, but I know of outfitters that have Golds (CIC)!!

Platinum outfitters would surely charge more than Gold outfitters!

Yep thats correct, but if cost is not the issue ! You dont see many Platinum on the walls, I have gold just need Platinum to make up the sets if you see what I am getting at.

Oh it doesn't stop there! A CWD with canines longer than 28cm is PALLADIUM! And that will set you back a million quid!

CIC don't, but BASC/Sporting Rifle do.

Of course when there are too many platinums awarded they'll then come out with diamond or somesuch. I seem to recall them saying at the launch that the new grading wasn't designed to encourage more trophies to be shot but rather to identify "exceptional" trophies.

And me so what length qualifies for a platinum then? talking to a farmer I know in Bedfordshire this afternoon he said he counted 14 in one field grazing the wheat yesterday.

Last I looked, scoring more than 240 qualifies a CWD as Platinum. By comparison Gold is, or was, 210.

To work out the score you:

1. Measure each canine:
Left canine; length (mm) + max circumference (mm)
Right canine; length (mm) + max circumference (mm)

2. Add the numbers for the left and right canines together

3. Sum the difference between the two canines (length difference + circumference difference)

4. Subtract 3 from 2 and you have your score
