My current GWP is 9 years old, Have had one before this and currently looking for another to bring on. My current one started off as a deer dog, then When she was 5 years old I bought a Harris Hawk And she transitioned over with no issue to falconry. She is not keen on water over her belly and will only retrieve if something is alive after being shot. if it is dead it gets a poke with her nose and just sits by it. Lack of retrieve is Handy now as she does not to try and retrieve rabbits the Hawk has caught. Very versatile dogs but need firm but very fair handling. Can be sensitive at times.
