How does one dispose of it after done, And Is there any reactions with the dried version of it with peroxide? (as far as I'm aware its manganese dioxide once dried, and Its just an oxygen reaction? Is that correct?)
I had planned too buy a 12% bottle of peroxide here too touch everything soon, just wanted too make sure If a splash went on the antler It wouldn't be a huge issue.

I lost a decent bit of colour on the coronets of a nice roe buck I shot a few days ago I dont really think it was any fault of the boiling it was more so just the deer hadn't quite rubbed colour into those spots so It washed off pretty easily.

I am not to sure how well touching skulls up goes with peroxide once they have aged and dried. I wrap my skulls in kitchen paper and pour a small amount on the skulls and let it all sit in the tub and a while. Then wash off afterwards- I don’t get much excess of waste peroxide. In this weather it has evaporated out of tub by next day.

I buy PP as crystal form, if the water left to evaporate the crystal can be regenerated to use again. Did it last week on a buck I found dead a few weeks ago. Don’t get PP on skull as will stain it .

Too be fair given I dont plan too use it often (I'd rather use briwax) If I ever need to touch this deer up, I probably could do soaked kitchen paper.
Other option Is I just leave it I guess until I can afford the briwax at least I know nothing will happen with that stuff If peroxide touches it, just wipe it off.

I've just never been a fan of putting something on skulls that will rehydrate with water, or react too peroxide I HAVE permanganate, I've just never used it for that reason.
I really like the ability of washing off dust or doing touch ups if needed.

Tbh , I have not used PP very much. Had a play around last week as I had some spare time 😊

Wow that looks brilliant, I’ve had to do a couple of found heads like that but the only difference is I polish the tips with fine wire wool to look as it it was naturally rubbed by the buck, but as I said yours look unbelievably brilliant well done mate Baz

I have put Vaseline on the tips in the past so PP does not stick , however I took an old buck in the same field the week before and that was 100 natural with coloured tips. So i did this one the same .

I remember my mother treating some goldfish with a bit of white spot with very dilute PP. would probably not recommend that as a treatment theses days.

I remember doing that as well!
Fasinated as the crystal dispersed and coloured the water.
