Preferred calibre .308 or a .30-06

If I was trying to save some money I would look for a good outfit on the S/H market and not worry about which calibre or make just find something you like. Just one thing you can't take either .308 or 30 06 into France, it is a minor point but why I bought a .270 (thats a can of worms)
