"Prove it was me"...

One of my Spaniels years ago, one weekend eat one of my socks. Luckily I got it back the following Tuesday. Same dog when out shooting miles from anywhere brought me back a ten pound note. True.
My mates old lab ‘Morag’ would wander round the bar when we were in, getting a scratch behind the ear from everyone. Every so often she would come back to check on us, quite often she would go straight to Fred with a tenner or fiver that had been dropped unnoticed. He never trained her, she just started doing it as a young dog and he wasn’t going to stop her !

This wasn't near heath charnock was it by any chance?
I was out walking one morning years ago when I was mugged by a spaniel near heath charnock. It took my last tenner.

Back 30 plus years ago I had a lurcher that would wait until we were 2 fields away from the farm I was living at at the time, the lurcher would bolt back to the farm house open the back door and steal whatever was cooking on the oven, he would even pull the grill pan out to steal bacon. He did not make me very popular at the time.
You chose well what went into creating that lurcher!

30 years or so ago we had a Patterdale Border Whippet cross. The dog was sat in the Landrover outside and managed to get through a full box of oxo cubes including the foil wrappers
........ before we came back to the vehicle to find these "crude oil slicks" all over the seats 😂

Our Russell stole the chocs at Christmas and hid them around the house .
Occasionally she would uplift from her position in front of the telly and fetch one.
Nobody followed her or questioned her. She kept the secret to her dying day.
