Was sent the above recipe from a pal and fellow stalker. I’m slow cooking ribs today and thought, as the oven is on and I’ve a few shanks and hocks to use, I’ll try this with them.
The recipe was doubled, and I used shallots not onions, about half the cloves the recipe called for and just brown sugar, not adding syrup as the recipe suggests as I don’t like my sauces too sweet. It’s cooking now and still smells very strongly of cloves, so we will see…..
Meantime the ribs have just gone in so we’ll not starve.
The quantity of roe hocks and shanks used, everything else was double the recipe from Finzean above.
Will be out the oven in a few hours, I’m giving it 5 hours.
I should probably add, I’ve been seeing the physio for the last few weeks. Guess why?
