Going to bite the bullet for a spotter Xq38f can’t seem to find one at a good price in stock ! Is it worth holding out for the shooting show just a few miles from me in February

I'm not sure how desperate you are to pull the trigger on the purchase, but I understand pulsar are releasing a new range around April time. Might get more performance for your money.

I got one recently from Mcleods. Super service and fantastic price. I had tried other places but was met with random radio silence or communication issues if I am being honest.

Contact Toby and ask him to give you a call when he next has them in if he is currently out of stock. He will keep you up to date all the way to purchase.

In terms of new spotter products, I do not think there is anything imminently in the pipeline. They have a new Thermion thermal scope which is part of their new stuff but if you want a spotter, the current range is probably going to be your choice for a while.

I have been out with the Thermal at night a fair bit recently. It is such an awesome piece of kit. You wonder how you managed without it. If you do get one, buy an Op/Tech bino strap for it. Quick release and really strong small cord that can fit through the hand strap holes with the hand strap still in situ. Only a tenner on ebay and it has transformed how I use it the last couple of nights.

XM30 Key - 2.4x base mag AMOLED 960x720 display , 7.8deg field of view, 1200m detection range. No WIFI or recording features..

XM30 - 4.1x base mag AMOLED 1024x768 display, 7.8 deg field of view, 1200 detection range. WIFI and Recording built in.

XM38 - 5.5x base mag AMOLED 1024x768 display, 5.8 deg field of view, 1700 detection range. WIFI and Recording built in.

I've lifted the above from another forum. Handheld spotters from my understanding.

I was thinking about replacing my thermal XD38 recently but I'm going to hold out for the newer ones due out middle of the year, You won't get anything cheaper at the shooting show in fact from what I seen last year it will be dearer, I looked at various items last year and found it best to test them at the show then look online and they were cheaper.

Take a look at pulsars website the new spotter that will be out between April and June is the Axion. I need to take a look through it as I too am in the market for thermal, or at the very least see a comparison video on YouTube against the xq and xp range.

There's no indication of pricing yet.

From what I gather they are stopping making the quantum lite
