Pulsar Krypton FXG50 Thermal Imaging Attachment,

Hi all just a question for those who has the Pulsar Krypton FXG50 Thermal Imaging Attachment,
My self and a friend Carrie out a lot of fox control in our local rural area on the local farms. We have been using xq38 thermal spotter along with night vision for rifle.my friend decided to invest in the Pulsar Krypton FXG50 Thermal Imaging Attachment, for Christmas. we thought this would be the way forward to have the thermal on rifle as well as the spotter. He purchased this brand new With a price tag at £4000 we thought we were in for a treat. We set the attachment up on rifle and powered the unit up. When looking through scope we were extremely disappointed in the image. At first we just assumed we would just need to have a play around with settings in the menu. We tried everything including a software update but still no good. When looking through scope the picture had what can only be described as a green background colour a bit like the old tube intensifiers. Picture very dark in colour and poor images. We could not even clearly Id rabbits at a 100yards. We compared the picture to the xq38 spotter and by far the 38 nocked spots off the krypton wich was highly disappointing as the krypton is twice the price and meant to have a much better picture. My friend has now sent krypton back to pulsar. We can only assume he has been sent out a faulty unit.
Would we be right in thinking this. I have heard from other people that these units do have the darker green background image and that is just the way there are.
Dose Any of you lads have one to shed some light on these thanks.

Hi thanks for the reply
I have spoken to my friend about this earlier and he informed me that he has sent the unit back and it has been agreed to be a faulty unit. He is now getting it replace with the new Pulsar Accolade 2 LRF XP50 Thermal Binoculars And paying the extra.

There is a green tinge to the display, which in my mind makes the overall display brighter than say a helion XQ38.
I think the extra brightness is to compensate for the reduction of light coming through the scope at higher magnifications where only a small part of the display actually being seen.
I have the x5 monocular that makes the Krypton into a spotter.
In a side by side comparison with a Helion XQ38, the Krypton is way ahead in image quality.
I was out with it the other night and, on an Athlon Midas 2.5-15x50 scope I had absolutely no problem identifying and shooting rabbits at 100 yards and beyond.

Cheers

Bruce
